Firefly International is dedicated to supporting children affected by the ravages of war, providing them with critical opportunities to heal, learn and build a peaceful future.
The Firefly for Syrians project provides pre-primary school education for children in northern Syria, most of whom have been displaced by war and for whom no other pre-primary provision exists.

The Lewin Trust is helping to provide three years of pre-primary education for 300 children. The programme is placing greater emphasis on play and shared activity, recognising these as essential to healthy child development, particularly for children who have spent their earliest years in camps or in prolonged insecurity. Anticipated outcomes also include improved teaching through our training and mentoring programme for trainee teachers, Arabic literacy and numeracy and a safe place where children can learn. These children are from some of the most disadvantaged rural communities in Syria.
