Families Together Suffolk has been offering free support to families with children under 12 for the last 40 years. Our focus is to bring community back to the heart of parenting in Suffolk, and our connection to local communities is the real strength of our service. One of our activities is our Learn & Grow Groups, through which we offer free, weekly group support to families with 0-5s in Bury St Edmunds, Haverhill and Stowmarket. To date, we have reached around 258 families, with all groups running in areas that include neighbourhoods within the 20% most deprived in England (IMD 2025).

Together with active signposting and referrals to local services (including our own home visiting), our Family Support Coordinators and volunteers promote early years development through weekly activities including seasonal crafts, a range of age-appropriate toys and songs (supporting physical, cognitive, social and emotional development), school readiness and parent-carer bonds: evidence of our impact can be found here. We are incredibly proud of the impact of our Learn & Grow groups and the nurturing spaces that they provide to help Suffolk children and families thrive.
