Springboard Chippenham is a specialist early‑years charity supporting pre‑school children (aged 0–5) with special needs and their families. Our motto, “maximising ability, minimising disability”, we have been successfully helping children since 1976. Based in the Pewsham area of Chippenham, we are the only service of our kind in the north of Wiltshire.
We offer stay‑and‑play groups for younger children and a specialist preschool for children aged two and above. Alongside direct support, we provide information, guidance and training for families and for the wider community of professionals who support Springboard children, including other early‑years settings, childminders and primary school staff. In February 2022, we received our fourth consecutive Outstanding rating from Ofsted.
What makes Springboard unique is our exceptionally high staff‑to‑child ratios (typically 1:2, or occasionally 1:1 or 1:3) and our team’s specialist training in meeting a wide range of medical, developmental and communication needs. This level of tailored support enables children with additional needs to make meaningful progress in a safe, inclusive environment.
