Rising Stars: Pre-School Enrichment Programme
Aiming Higher’s Rising Stars project gives disabled preschool children the best possible start in life by providing structured, play-based learning opportunities. Running four activities a week, Rising Stars supports children aged 0-5 with additional needs, alongside their preschool-aged siblings, through a wide range of activities designed to nurture every aspect of development. Sessions include water therapy and play, access to local community facilities, music and movement, and Makaton baby signing. These activities help children build communication, social skills, physical development and confidence in a safe, inclusive environment. Importantly, the project also creates space for parents to bond with their children and connect with other families facing similar challenges, reducing isolation and strengthening peer networks.
All sessions are provided free of charge, removing barriers to access and easing financial pressure for families who are already managing additional costs linked to disability. Through this programme, Aiming Higher seeks to ensure that disabled children are not left behind, but instead are given the chance to thrive, grow and prepare for the next stage of their education.
